It’s a little more than a year away and time to start planning and making assignments for the 2016 SAF National Convention. The convention will be on November 2-6 at the Monona Terrace Convention Center in Madison. Thank you in advance for your interest in the convention planning and possibly volunteering to help out at the convention. I believe there will be many places to assist.
There are five areas were volunteers will be needed. I believe I have a person or people to be the lead for each area except the tours / workshops and those could be split.
- Technical Field Tours / Workshops
- Foresters’ and Science Funds Raffle and Auction
- Local Publicity
- Student Activities
- On-site Volunteers
We will need people to lead tours. I have a list going of ideas and we will need a small committee to finalize the tours and workshops we would like to offer. If you are willing to serve on this committee, let me know.
We will also need people to set up the raffle and auction tables, monitor them and sell tickets.
On-site volunteers will be needed throughout the conference – room moderators, audio-visual assistance, helping with registration and more.
If you have not attended a national convention (or even if you have), please look on the national SAF website for how things are lined out. It should give you an idea of tours and workshops. Give me a shout with your ideas.
